She is one of the most stubbornly single actresses in Hollywood and the one with the most personal style in the Film Mecca.
She and Ashton Kutcher have just released What Happens in Vegas..., directed by Tom Vaughan, so she’s in the midst of promoting the film and the media is brimming with interviews with her.
Even though Cameron Diaz began to work as a model at the age of 16, she didn’t make the leap to stardom until she was 22. That year, 1994, marked her appearance in The Mask, and even though it was her first film, she won real kudos as an actress four years later with There's Something About Mary. Ever since then, she’s concentrated on her facet as an actress, which has garnered her nominations for the Oscar, the Golden Globes and the BAFTA awards.
Photographs of Cameron are ever-present in the press because she doesn’t miss out on too many social events in Hollywood. Plus she’s one of the regulars at photocalls, when her styling is scrutinised from head to toe. But as luck would have it, Cameron Diaz is a bona fide shoe addict; there have even been photos of her trying on shoes at famous haute footwear shops. One of her favourites in Los Angeles, where she can spend hours trying on different models, is Barney’s.
She confesses that she has all types and colours of shoes, so it’s hard for fashion experts to pigeonhole her into a predefined style. There is no doubt that Cameron has a style of her own, and that isn’t sated with just a single brand. The occasion and her clothing determine which shoes, sandals or boots she wears.
Cameron has no problem deciding because her closet is brimming with a wide range to choose from: round-toed, open-toed, pointy-toed, high heeled, medium heels, ballet flats… and all sorts of colours and combinations. Still, she does avoid overly bright neon-like colours. The actress’ favourite designers include Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Prada.
In 2005 she was able to share her love for shoes in the movies. She played the role of Maggie Feller in In Her Shoes, a film that co-starred Toni Collete. Both actresses played two sisters who only had their love for shoes in common. Which ones? Jimmy Choo’s creations.
