Sex in the City,The movie features memorable shoe models. Sex in the City, The Movie premiered on May 13th in London against all predictions.
London was the city chosen for the international premiere of Sex and the City on the 13th of May. This surprised the New York fans of the series, since Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), the main character in the mythical TV series from the 1990s, was obviously from New York.
The film was almost premiered in Cannes… but its subject matter persuaded the producers to change plans. They were concerned that the French audience at the festival would not accept its rather “light” content.
Most of the fans of the mythical TV series were not let down by the film, in spite of it being 2.5 hours long. In a nutshell, everything is different for Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis).
Manolo Blahnik, the famous Spanish shoe designer, once again takes centre stage thanks to Carrie Bradshaw. The famous Sex and the City star remains true to her passion. Shoes continue to play a silent, visual role in the film.
This time, a different model of Manolos (Hangisi) steal the show. These blue satin pumps with high heels (9 cm) and Swarovski crystal glass buckle end up being the stellar footwear of the film. But they are not the only Manolo creations. The very latest Bebek model and the elegant Milas are also featured in the film.
Of the different pairs that the actresses wear in the film, Dior’s Extreme Cutout Sandals stand out. Carrie wears them in six different scenes. They are also featured in the film’s promotional materials and have already started a trend.
Still, at the world premiere of Sex in the City, The Movie Sarah Jessica Parker surprised everyone by not choosing a Manolos model for the occasion and instead opting for one of Alexander McQueen’s designs. Is that Sarah Jessica Parker’s way of distinguishing herself from Carrie Bradshaw? The actress’ career hasn’t slowed down since the show ended. But all the characters she has played have had a common denominator: they were dressed by top designers. In the 1990s Carrie Bradshaw became a fashion icon, the woman who could wear anything and trigger a trend. Sarah Jessica Parker has inherited her skill because, after all, she is Carrie.
